The U.S. Consulate in Casablanca is seeking an individual for the position of Surveillance Detection Coordinator.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION :
The incumbent has daily administrative and operational control of the Surveillance Detection Unit at the United States Consulate Casablanca and reports directly to the Regional Security Officer in Casablanca for overall guidance on operational and administrative issues and is required to report to the RSO all occurrences of hostile surveillance or suspicious activities around Mission facilities in Casablanca. The incumbent supervises all LES SD Guards in Casablanca.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must meet all qualifications and provide supporting documentation for each criterion below.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: Three years of Surveillance detection experience is required with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
Language: Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) English is required. Level 4 (Fluent) French and Arabic is required.
Knowledge:
- A thorough knowledge of procedures for conducting and reporting surveillance and the ability to discern normal traffic patterns, pedestrian behavior, and frequented travel routes.
- Must be familiar with the computerized, diplomatic security database.
Skills and Abilities:
- A driver's license is required.
- Must be skilled with the use of surveillance equipment (audio/video recording devices, binoculars, cameras, etc.)
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Must be able to work independently and adapt to changing circumstances without requesting guidance.
SELECTION PROCESS
When equally qualified, US Citizen EFMs and US Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.

- Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
- Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
- Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
- Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
- Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
