WORK HOURS: Full-Time; 40 hours/week

SALARY:

*☺*Not-Ordinarily Resident: $30,231 p.a. (Starting Salary
based on 40 hours)

(Position Grade: FP-08 following confirmation by Washington)

*☺*Ordinarily Resident: DH 112,748 p.a. (Starting Salary based on 40 hours)
(Position Grade: FSN-06 following confirmation by Washington)

The U.S. Consulate General in Casablanca is seeking an individual for the position of Visa Clerk.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The incumbent serves as the primary point for clients of the Consular Section. S/he is responsible for screening Non-Immigrant Visas (NIV), Immigrant Visas (IV), and American Consular Services (ACS) applicants; checking NIV applications for completeness; using computer programs to track those who come for an interview and those who are “no shows”, and those who must bring in their passports so visas can be printed. S/he performs other duties including data entry for NIV and IV, scanning, and translation as directed by the Visa Units.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • NOTE: All applicants must meet all qualifications and provide supporting documentation for each criterion below.
  • Education: High school education (Baccalaureate) is required.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of experience in a public service oriented position is required.
  • Language: Level 4 (fluency) in English, French, and Arabic is required.

Knowledge:

-Ability to comprehend and explain legal and regulatory requirements is required.

Abilities and Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills to tactfully and diplomatically deal with demanding members of the public is required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early morning hours is required.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team is required.
  • Ability to operate all computer systems related to the processing of nonimmigrant visas is required.

SELECTION PROCESS

When equally qualified, US Citizen EFMs and US Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA

  1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
  2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
  3. Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
  4. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
  5. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
